T-minus 30 days until my wedding!

Since this season is rapidly coming to an end, I’m sharing a story from wedding planning.

We went to Total Wine to taste test which wines we wanted for the big day. I walked out with 3 new favorites — a red, a white, and even a rosé.

Each wine needed to serve 2 purposes:

  1. They needed to be something I would serve to a dinner guest.
  2. They needed to be even-keel enough to please a crowd.

Here are the wines that won out!

Even though I don’t drink except for special occasions anymore, these are definitely my new go-tos when I do.

Test New Ways To Test: Card Sorting

Remember: Testing doesn’t have to be a formal, boring period of A/B tests...

When creating new social media content, testing can be as casual as compiling your creative and caption options and asking 1-2 people which combinations feel the clearest or most compelling.

You can also try one of my favorite methods:

Card Sorting can be incredibly helpful when breaking through decision fatigue and not knowing which way to go.

Essentially you sort cards into different categories (groundbreaking, I know).

But this activity can help understand the many ways you can categorize the same information.

What I'm Reading: 📚 How to Make Sense of Any Mess by Abby Covert

I discovered Abby Covert in 2017 while organizing a messy website.

Her book is my favorite resource for information architecture — the backbone of content strategy, SEO topic clusters, and site maps. If you want to get better at structuring any information so it makes sense, this is the book.
